Since March 18th 2010 the Nürburgring Nordschleife is opened for Touristenfahrten again. Past winterseason the GmbH has been building a sound barrier near the Breidscheid bridge. It's not really pretty to look at and the view has been reduced too, but if this wall means we can drive the holy grounds for another couple of years again, I will not complain about it.
Also a couple of other things were changed/constructed:

• There is a new FIA-fence where the Nordschleife meats the GP-track (Hohenrain Chicane)
• At the lowest point of the Fuchsröhre compression there's also a new FIA-fence.
• Near Flugplatz they've built a new tirewall
• From Breidscheid till Ex-Mühle the track has been given a new toplayer of asphalt

This statement was released by the Nürburgring Gmbh on 17 december 2009. It seems the new CEO, Hans-Joachim Koch, has quite a different view on how the compagny should do business. Not only did they decide not to increace the prices per lap, they will even open the Nordschleife for Touristenfahrt every day!
